Turricula (Surcula) dimidiata, Brocchi 1814

Ces Turricula dimidiata alias Comita(s?) dimidiata (Brocchi, 1814) viennent du Plaisancien (Italie ou France). Ils sont arrivés chez moi par la poste sans taxon. Il ressemble à Pleurotoma rotata (Brocchi, 1814) var. subrotata (d' Orbigny, 1852) dans le Cossmann & Peyrot (fig. 81/83, pl. 8, T. 83). Bien qu' il y ai un grand écart de durée entre le Miocène supérieur (7,246 à 5,332 Ma ) et le Pliocène (3,6 à 2,6 Ma ) quelques espèces ont la vie dure et traversent les âges sans changer!!!!

These Turricula dimidiata come from Plaisancian (Italy or France). They came to me by post mail without taxon. It looks like Pleurotoma rotata (Brocchi, 1814) var. subrotata (d 'Orbigny, 1852) in Cossmann & Peyrot (fig. 81/83, p. 8, T. 83). Although it will have a great time differential between the upper Miocene (7.246 to 5.332 Ma) and Pliocene (3.6 to 2.6 Ma) some species have hard life and pass through the ages without change!!
